Sergey Boytsov set a world record by jumping from a hot-air balloon at an altitude of 11.5 kilometers over Altai Krai. The launch point was already in the stratosphere, where the air is much thinner and the conditions for a jump become sharply more difficult.

In free fall, the athlete accelerated to 500 km/h. The parachute deployed successfully at an altitude of 1.56 kilometers, after which Boytsov landed safely.

Boytsov beat the previous world record held by Polish athletes — 10 kilometers. Now the highest balloon jump stands another one and a half kilometers higher, and this mark is again waiting for someone willing to surpass it.
