The maximum ozone mass deficit over Antarctica in 2025 was 36.7 million tonnes. According to the World Meteorological Organization, this was more than 25% below the 1990–2010 average.
The ozone depletion season was among the least severe in recent decades. Annual fluctuations nevertheless continue against a long-term trend towards ozone layer recovery.
