In Florida, the unique Rising Tide Car Wash has been operating for ten years, with all staff members being adults with autism. The idea belonged to John Deary, who thought about his son’s future and decided to create a business that would provide work and confidence to people with special needs.
When the company was first covered by the media in 2015, it had only 35 employees and one branch. Today, it has 90 workers and three locations. A fourth car wash is planned for 2026. For many employees, the job has become a step toward independence, development and a stable income, as well as an opportunity to be part of society.
Rising Tide is changing how neurodiversity is perceived in society. This story is an example of how social responsibility turns from fine words into real jobs, and it shows that inclusivity and business go well together.
