A child has been born in Mexico for the first time using a fully automated IVF procedure. The process was controlled remotely from New York, and the fertilized egg was selected and processed by artificial intelligence.
The system was developed by the US company Conceivable Life Sciences. For the first time, AI and robots were used not as supporting tools, but as the main performers of all critical decisions and actions in the reproductive procedure.
A 40-year-old patient gave birth to a healthy baby. Fully automated IVF could reduce the number of errors, address shortages of highly qualified specialists, and lower the cost of the procedure.
The technology may pave the way for more affordable, standardized care in regions where such services were previously unavailable.
