China is preparing to open the world’s first fully robotic hotel. Construction is under way in Guangdong province on West Artificial Island, with opening planned for 2027. The project is being developed by Pudu Robotics and Shenzhen Culture & Tourism Industry Development, which aim to turn the new site into a hub for technology tourism.

The hotel’s main difference from existing “smart” hotels is that robots will carry out almost all key functions. They will handle guest registration, luggage and order delivery, food preparation, room cleaning and escorting visitors. All processes will be managed by a single software system, PuduFM 1.0 and PuduAgent, which coordinates different types of robots as one team.

The hotel will have 44 rooms, a restaurant, a gym and other leisure areas. The first guest trials will begin at the end of 2026, when several rooms open and the main services are tested. The machines to be used include FlashBot delivery robots, PUDU T300 luggage transport robots and intelligent cleaning systems PUDU CC1 Pro and PUDU MT1 with an AI-based dirt recognition system.

Hotel automation has been developing for years, but until now it has been limited to individual functions. The Chinese project is the first to test how viable a fully integrated service model can be.
