In Guizhou province in southwestern China, the Huajiang Bridge has opened as the world’s tallest bridge. Its roadway is located 625 meters above the ground, nearly twice as high as the Eiffel Tower and 60 meters higher than the previous record holder, the Beipanjiang Bridge, which is also in the region.

The new bridge is 2,890 meters long, and its main span is 1,420 meters. Construction, which began in 2020, involved the introduction of innovations: engineers used ultra-strong steel wire and developed a unique cable installation system.

The opening of the bridge has dramatically changed life for local residents: a trip across the canyon that once took two hours now takes just two minutes. This has opened up new prospects for business, tourism, and infrastructure development. Hotels and traveler services are appearing along the road, and representatives of local ethnic groups are preparing to share their traditions with visitors.

The Huajiang Bridge has become not only a new engineering record, but also an important step toward integrating remote areas into China’s modern transport network.
