Over the past 10 years, Indonesia has sharply expanded digital inclusion, increasing from 49% of adults to 83%. This shift became possible thanks to the government strategy “Vision Indonesia 2045,” the active development of fintech, and the deployment of artificial intelligence.

AI is being used to assess risks, protect against fraud, and personalize services—especially important for people living in remote regions. The leading fintech company DANA introduced the “AI Everywhere” program, which enabled intelligent security mechanisms and recommendations for millions of users.

Indonesia is also building its digital infrastructure: 79% of the population already has access to the internet. This is a very high figure for such a large archipelago country. It is not just a number, but the result of coordinated efforts by the government, private companies, and technological progress. This was a key factor that allowed Indonesia to rapidly expand financial inclusion.

Indonesia shows that with a comprehensive approach, technology becomes not only a tool for growth, but also a factor in social connection.
