Small solar power systems for balconies and terraces are becoming a notable international trend. In Germany and other European countries, they are already widely used, and now they are entering the markets of the United Kingdom and the United States.
Traditional solar panels require a suitable roof, investment, and approvals. Balcony systems are simpler and accessible to renters and apartment owners.
It is telling that legislation is beginning to adapt specifically to this format. Britain has allowed ready-made kits to be sold through major retailers, and California is preparing to simplify installation of systems up to 1,200 watts.
In effect, solar power generation is becoming not only centralized, but distributed as well. Panels are gradually moving from the roofs of private houses to ordinary city balconies.
