In Shenzhen, a major city in southern China, the first trials of the humanoid robot T800, developed by local company EngineAI Robotics Technology, have taken place. The humanoid went out onto the streets accompanied by police, drawing widespread interest on social media. The trial was held in the popular tourist area Window of the World and was part of a program to test technologies for public safety.

The T800 robot is 173 cm tall, weighs 75 kg, is equipped with sensors and AI, and can move at speeds of up to 10.8 km/h. A single charge provides 4-5 hours of autonomous operation. The development is aimed at mass production, with a base price of around $25,000.

Around the world, machines are increasingly being used for around-the-clock surveillance, threat detection and work in conditions dangerous for humans. But in the case of the T800, the goal is not to replace live officers, but to complement their work and improve efficiency and safety.
