The Chinese humanoid robot AgiBot A2 set a record by entering the Guinness World Records after a continuous walk of 106.286 km between the cities of Suzhou and Shanghai. The trial took place from November 10 to 13 and was the first case in the world in which a serial human-like robot covered such a distance in a real urban environment.

Standing 175 cm tall and weighing 55 kg, AgiBot A2 successfully handled a variety of road conditions without shutting down for a single minute thanks to replaceable batteries. The route included highways, city streets, sections marked for the visually impaired, sloped sidewalks, bridges and dark areas. Navigation was provided with GPS, lidar and infrared cameras.

A2 is not an exhibition prototype but a full production model, and it is already being delivered to customers. The robot is equipped with advanced artificial intelligence, can work with text, voice and images, perform small tasks such as threading a needle, recognize faces and accompany a person, and communicate in several languages.

At the end of the journey, the robot joked that it now needed a new pair of shoes — the only sign of wear was on the sole.
