Since 2018, Oslo has been following a strategy aimed at fully electrifying public transport and reaching zero emissions by 2028. A key element is the Ruter digital service, which combines all modes of transport in one app, from ferries to e-scooters.

With Ruter, residents can plan routes, track traffic in real time, and pay for rides—all within one interface. This is not only convenient, but also helps reduce the number of trips by car, which in turn lowers emissions and noise pollution.

Similar solutions are being introduced in other cities, including Moscow, where digital transport infrastructure is also being actively developed. Oslo’s example shows that sustainability is not about sacrifices, but about smart and convenient solutions.

Would you be willing to give up your car if city transport were convenient and available in one app?
