Indian musician Trahun Sekar restored the ancient musical instrument Yaz, which had not been made for more than two thousand years. This arched, peacock-shaped instrument is mentioned in ancient texts, but little practical information about it has survived.

Sekar spent a year researching and working with craftsmen to recreate several unique models of the Yaz. His company, Uru Instruments, has already sold about 80 of these instruments abroad—to Canada, the United States, and Germany.

In addition, the musician formed a group that performs traditional Tamil music, and he plans to restore forgotten musical instruments from all Indian states.
