TARS Robotics has carried out the world’s first public demonstration of a robot performing complex hand embroidery with both hands. The machine did more than thread a needle: it accurately embroidered a logo while working with soft fabric — a task that had previously been considered out of reach for automation.

The breakthrough was made possible by the innovative SenseHub system, which combines real-world data, AI and physics into a single training loop. Built on this foundation is the AWE 2.0 model, which can learn quickly and transfer skills from virtual environments to the real world. TARS robots can now carry out delicate tasks without complex reconfiguration, opening possibilities in electronics manufacturing and light industry.

Equally striking is the company’s pace of development. Founded only in February 2025, TARS Robotics had already brought its platform to a demonstration of highly complex manipulation by December, attracted more than $240 million in investment, and effectively set a new benchmark for the industry.
