Kara Water has introduced the Kara Pod, a coffee machine that produces water for drinks directly from the air. The compact device extracts moisture from the surrounding environment, purifies it using a three-stage filtration system, including UV sterilization, a carbon filter, and mandatory mineralization. Users then receive up to 3.2 liters of clean water per day. Kara Pod does not require a connection to the water supply: it only needs to be placed on a table and plugged into an outlet.

The machine makes coffee from Nespresso capsules made from compostable materials, which underscores the project’s environmental orientation. Based on the developers’ calculations, Kara Pod helps save up to $1,464 per year on purchasing water, while also reducing plastic use and the amount of waste.

On Kickstarter, the device is available for a starting price of $499. Kara Pod is not just a smart gadget—it is a step toward a more sustainable and independent way of living, where care for health, convenience, and ecology are combined in a single device.
