Juurnee is an online platform that connects people who need help while travelling with those willing to provide it. The service emerged after the story of Rachel Crampton, a Briton living in Sydney, who had to fly from London with her three children. Unable to find a helper among her acquaintances, she turned to social media and offered £560 to anyone willing to travel with her. Unexpectedly, she received hundreds of responses, which inspired the creation of the platform.

Juurnee already operates in the UK and Australia. Parents with children, older people, people with special needs, minors and simply anxious passengers can post a request for free. The reward usually ranges from 50% to 100% of the ticket price. Potential companions pay a £15 subscription and get access to the listings.

More than 12,000 users have already registered as companions, including teachers, nurses and social workers. All arrangements and payments go through a secure Escrow system, where the money is held until the trip is completed, giving both sides confidence.

Juurnee does more than make travel easier. It makes it more human. In a world where we increasingly feel alone, the platform has reminded people how important trust and mutual help are.
