Fifty-three-year-old Brazilian Alexandre Frota completed a round-the-world flight in a single-engine RV-10 that he had prepared himself for the journey. Over nearly six months, he crossed several continents, reached Russia’s Far East, and returned to Brazil. The scale of the route is especially striking given that he completed the entire trip in a small private aircraft.
For the circumnavigation, the pilot significantly modified the plane: instead of the rear seats, he installed additional fuel tanks and equipped it with a modern navigation system. After obtaining a pilot’s license several years ago, Frota turned his interest in aviation into a major round-the-world expedition.
Human potential can be astonishing — especially when a dream is followed by knowledge, persistence, and the willingness to see it through to the end.
