Sechenov University has patented a virtual hysteroscopy technology — a new way to diagnose diseases of the uterine cavity without surgery. The method is based on three-dimensional visualization in HDlive mode and allows detailed examination of the endometrium without invasive procedures. The examination takes from 15 to 30 minutes.

Today, classical hysteroscopy, which requires anesthesia, is most often used to diagnose endometrial pathologies. The new technology makes it possible to obtain a detailed digital image of the uterine cavity without surgery, reducing the risk of complications and helping doctors determine whether a patient really needs surgical intervention.

Three-dimensional diagnostics detect endometrial polyps much more often than traditional 2D imaging. In addition, the likelihood of an incorrect result with the new method is 4.4 times lower. Polyps can prevent pregnancy, so detecting them in time is especially important in the treatment of infertility.

In recent years, global medicine has steadily moved toward the development of minimally invasive and non-invasive diagnostic methods. Modern imaging technologies are becoming increasingly accurate and are gradually making it possible to replace some procedures that until recently required surgical intervention.
