A special alert button for reporting fraudsters is expected to appear on the Gosuslugi portal by September. The law introducing the new mechanism has already been adopted by the State Duma. The service will help users respond quickly to suspicious calls, attempted scams or unauthorized withdrawals.
After the button is pressed, the alert will be sent through the Antifrod system, which brings together banks, telecom operators and law enforcement agencies. This will allow all participants to receive information about possible fraud more quickly and coordinate their actions.
No automatic blocking of accounts or transfers is предусмотрено. Decisions will be made by specialists. However, a bank will be able to promptly check a suspicious transaction, a telecom operator will be able to take action against a fraudulent number, and the police will be able to start an inquiry more quickly.
The innovation is meant to make things easier for citizens in a critical situation. Instead of looking for the right phone numbers and contacting different organizations, users will be able to send a single signal through a familiar digital service. Similar alert buttons are also planned for banking apps, becoming another element in the emerging protection system against phone and financial fraud.
