OpenAI has introduced a new parental control system in ChatGPT. The AI will now automatically send parents notifications if it detects signs of severe stress during conversations with a teenager. These alerts are generated based on recommendations from mental health specialists.

The system allows parents to link their accounts to their children's accounts and manage features including disabling the AI's "memory" and viewing chat history. Age-based communication standards have also been introduced: ChatGPT will choose appropriate responses that match the teenager's age.

For sensitive topics, the chatbot switches to a slower model that analyzes the situation more carefully and offers emergency help contacts. The entire system was developed with the participation of more than 250 doctors and psychologists.

Artificial intelligence is already deeply embedded in our education, leisure and even psycho-emotional space. In such a situation, the question is not whether protective measures are needed, but what exactly they should be and who should be responsible for them.
