Google has rolled out a new AI feature that lets users virtually try on clothes on their own bodies. Now, users in the US can upload a photo in Google Search, Shopping, or image search and immediately see how the selected item looks on them.
This is possible thanks to an integration with Doppl, an AI-based system. It doesn’t just “fit” clothing onto a photo—it takes into account features of body shape, lighting, and fabric, making the result more realistic. It is expected to help reduce returns and make online shopping more accurate and mindful.
Google has also introduced smart notifications about price drops, with the option to set a desired size, color, and even a specific amount. In the fall, the company plans to launch Vision Match—visual outfit collections based on themed queries, from “Scandinavian bedroom” to a “picnic look.” In this way, online shopping is moving to a new level of personalization, comfort, and efficiency.
