In 2024, more than 40% of the world’s electricity was generated from renewable sources—first time since the 1940s. According to a report by the think tank Ember, solar power became the key driver, doubling its capacity over the last three years. Solar installations have remained the fastest-growing in the world for 20 years, and when combined with storage systems they are becoming an important element of the global energy transition.

Due to extreme heat and increased demand for cooling, the world has to rely on electricity again more actively. At the same time, analysts expect that trends such as the growth of electric vehicles and the use of AI will continue to raise the need for electricity. The central task is to meet this demand with clean and sustainable energy sources, because renewable energy is no longer just a green alternative, but a new foundation for the global energy balance.
